What is Organic Quinoa?

Scientific name: Chenopodium quinoa

Quinoa is a flowering annual plant from the amaranth family. It is a herbaceous plant grown as a crop primarily for its edible seeds.

Quinoa dates back three to four thousand years ago when the Incas first realized that the seed was fit for human consumption, it was considered the ‘gold of the Incas’ because they believed it increased the strength and stamina of their warriors, and in fact it did. They soon claimed it as ‘the mother of all grains.’

Our organic quinoa has been grown by local Peruvian farmers who specialise in cultivating their products with the highest organic standards involving tradition, culture and quality.
